Support the Indiana Writers Center

2022: Year in Review

In 2022, the Indiana Writers Center experienced many transitions including the move back to in-person programming. We successfully continued our mission of supporting Indiana writers of all ages and backgrounds and reaching out to people whose voices are rarely heard. Here are just a few highlights from 2022:

*195 workshops and events in areas like poetry, creative nonfiction, fiction, playwriting, publishing and more, serving more than 1,700 writers.

*We offered 42 free writing workshops in collaboration with the Indianapolis Public Library

*We hosted 17 free Writing for Wellness workshops serving writers throughout the state of Indiana and around the country.

*We awarded five full scholarships to the 2022 Gathering of Writers.

*IWC also served 165 students from St. Florian, St. Richard’s, and Felege Hiywot Center during our Building a Rainbow summer youth program and produced the yearly student anthology, I Remember.

We are proud to give writers the space and guidance needed to communicate their stories. This can be a long process whether someone is working on a memoir, collection of essays or poetry, a novel, or even a play. By giving access to affordable creative writing education, we hope to help more people perfect their craft and put their written words out into the world.

Make a gift today and help us continue providing a dynamic literary community in Indiana. As we prepare for 2023, your support will help the IWC guarantee the same level of service and programming for all writers throughout the state
